Cooling

TELESIS delivers low-cost cooling in 3 of the 4 major climate zones all around the world. Cooling Towers are not required when TELESIS is the source of the condenser water for water-cooled chillers.

We broadly offer 3-different methods, one for temperate latitudes and a choice of two methods for sub-tropical and equatorial latitudes

Datacentres

In the UK as an example of a temperate climate, our optimal-utility delivery is the integrated supply of HEATING and Cooling (and DESALINATION where there is a demand).

To achieve this we deploy Heat pumps for heating, As a consequence, our Heat sink water is chilled down to 5.5 / 6ºC, a perfect temperature formost Computer room or Data centre proprietary cooling services (CRAC). Our HeatPump efficiency (COP) is 5.5 and above; incomparably better than any other form of natural, renewable heating.

SUBTROPICAL

Our sub surface water can be used directly as a cooling medium in warmer climates where our water has a significantly lower temperature than the above ground ambient air temperature.

For example, on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt has a subsurface water temperature of 20ºC, significantly lower than the above ground ambient air temperature of 30ºC. Condensate from the air-to-water cooling coils can be collected for irrigation purposes.

EQUatorial

The ambient air temperature of 30ºC is ‘Dry Bulb’. The corresponding wet bulb temperature can be 28ºC. The cooling water produced by Cooling Towers will therefore be around 28ºC. Consequently, our subsurface water would make a superior condenser water, and cooling towers would be unnecessary.

Having served the water cooled Chillers our ‘once-through’ subsurface condenser water can be directed to the low energy, low cost desalination plant that benefits from processing our highly purified feed-source.

Telesis Advantages

abstracted water from below the seabed has an inherent latent energy which can be leveraged by a host of utility services

Cheaper

Telesis district cooling systems can enjoy a 30% reduction in capex (potentially 85% in northern latitudes) and a 60% reduction in opex

Cleaner

Telesis abstracts water from below the seabed which is filtered through the saturated seabed sand. purified water without the need to use harmful chemicals and processes.

GREENER

16% of all energy consumed in the UK is spent on cooling. Telesis utilises the latent energy from water abstracted from below the seabed to produce "free cooling"

Economic improvements

With Telesis Cooling

Cooling Towers
are unnecessary, redundant.

In northern latitudes, Chillers are unnecessary 85% reduction in Capex, 60% reduction in Opex
